Terms of Services
Thank you for choosing Unique Auto Inc. The following form is used to inform our customers of the terms, conditions and expectations of our installation services. Please read over the form. By authorizing Unique Auto Inc. to work on your vehicle, you agree to all of the terms and conditions below for every service. If there any questions or concerns, we can reached through e-mail or by phone.
CARING FOR YOUR NEW WINDOW FILM:
1. Do not roll windows for 5 days.
Film Dry-Out:
During installation, your installer will remove as much of the mounting solution as possible, although a small amount will remain. Trapped installation moisture can cause small water bubbles and/or a slightly cloudy look. This is normal and should be expected. Do not attempt to pierce a water bubble during dry-out time. Water bubbles and the cloudy look will dissipate. Attempting to pierce a water bubble in an effort to drain moisture will damage your film and is not covered by the warranty.
Climate Conditions and Dry-Out Time:
If slow drying occurs, do not become alarmed. The trapped moisture will dry out completely. Certain climate conditions can extend the dry-out time for as long as 30 to 60 days after installation. Cold and rainy weather conditions can lengthen the dry-out time while warm weather and direct sunlight exposure will shorten it. The dry-out time for our high performance and ceramic window films will always take longer than conventional non-reflective films.
2. Do not clean the film until 30 days after installation.
Cleaning:
Do not clean the film until 30 days after installation. We highly recommend not washing your vehicle or using the windshield defogger/defroster for a minimum of 5-8 hours. This will help ensure proper curing of the special mounting adhesive to the glass.
Cleaning Solutions:
We recommend using our tint-safe, anti-static, ammonia-free window tint cleaner. If not, a good mild cleaning solution for window film is 1/2 ounce of liquid dish soap added to 1 quart of fresh water.
Cleaning Materials:
To avoid scratching the film, a soft cloth or clean synthetic sponge is recommended for washing the window film, followed by another clean soft cloth or rubber squeegee for drying. Some brands of paper towels are coarse enough to put fine scratches in the film's protective hard coat finish. While these scratches may be too thin to be seen at the beginning, they can damage the polished look of the film over time. Clean gently. Scratches or nicks caused by sharp objects, dirt stuck in the rubber gaskets, rings and seatbelt buckles are not covered under warranty. Warranty covers any peeling, bubbling or installation problems.
3. Customers accept all liability for tints darker than the legal limit of 35% on DRIVER and PASSENGER FRONT windows.
Shade/Colour Policy:
There are no refunds due to the look/colour once a client chooses shades and film is cut and/or installed. We will not issue any refunds for citations or failed inspections. Vehicle owner is solely responsible for the darkness of the tint on their vehicles and must abide by the laws in which the vehicle will be operating in.
4. Barley visible seams, borders and dust specks are considered QUALITY WORK.
Black Dotted Edges (DOT MATRIX):
Most cars have black ceramic dotted edges on side and rear windows. Sometimes, the ceramic edges are straight and flat. Sometimes, it will have a dotted edge. These black ceramic dots are thick on most cars and prevent the window film from sticking to the area between the dots. This results in a whitish looking strip trimming the glass. Unfortunately, the effect is unavoidable. This does not affect the performance or durability of the film is perfectly natural.
Gaps on Edges:
While we make every effort to get the film as close to the edges as we can when the window film is installed there may be slight gaps. This allows for the solution used in the installation to be squeegee out. This also ensures that the film edges are not raised up by contact with the frame margin, dot matrix or other moldings, etc. Contact with the frame, dot matrix or moldings can lead to peeling of the film. A gap may also exist due to the type of glass or windows that the film is installed on
Black Borders:
Depending upon the thickness (above the surface of the glass) of the border, a very thin white line may appear from the outside when the film cures where the black border ends.
Visual Quality Expectations:
Although we strive for perfection in our installations, due to nature of the product, all retrofit installations will have defects. Small amounts of debris will be present in your application. Pre-existing flaws, scratches, nicks and metal deposits on the glass are often much more noticeable after the window(s) is tinted. Older vehicles will have more imperfections due to age. Some newer vehicles will have small stains in the exterior of the windows, only visible after the film is installed.
Windshield Film Installation:
There will be minor natural imperfections present in every windshield film installation. Do not apply any decals or windshield accessories on windshield for 7 days. Polarized glasses cause a rainbow effect when seeing through. There are no refunds or warranty coverage on rainbow effect due to wearing polarized sunglasses. Damaged caused while installing and/or removing decals or windshield accessories is not covered under our warranty policy. Warranty only covers peeling or bubbling.
Water:
The application of any product with an aggressive adhesive system requires the use of water and some type of "slip" agent. Both are harmless. Our installers will wipe down all surfaces which come in contact with the water immediately when finished with installation on that particular piece of glass. Any carpeted areas will return to their original condition.
5. Rubber strips will be removed where ever necessary when glass clearance is required.
6. Decals will be removed unless other instructions are given by the client.
7. Unique Auto Inc. is not responsible for any malfunctions of the rear defroster and/or wires.
8. Unique Auto Inc. does not assume responsibility for scratches on windows.
Film, Badge & Decal Removal:
The above mentioned removals may cause the glass and/or defroster to be damaged. By authorizing Unique Auto Inc. to proceed with the removal, the client hereby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Unique Auto Inc. and agrees that Unique Auto Inc. will not be liable in the event that damage does occur during the removal process.
9. Pick-Up / Drop-Off:
You are responsible for verifying the interior and exterior condition of your vehicle BEFORE you leave Unique Auto Inc. Once you leave the premises, Unique Auto Inc. is no longer liable in any way for the condition of your vehicle. Please notify a Unique Auto Inc. representative immediately before you leave the premises if you believe something is not right with the condition of your vehicle.
Car's Interior & Exterior:
Most paint is not perfect. Most vehicles’ interior is not in perfect condition either. It is natural to look at any new purchase closely, especially one that changes the overall look of your vehicle as much as window tinting. Sometimes minute defects that were already there will now be noticed. Our company is not responsible for any minute flaws in the vehicles interior and/or exterior unless thoroughly inspected by the customer and one of the team members before installation begins.
Speakers:
Most speaker cones are made of polypropylene (plastic) and cannot be damaged by small amounts of water, however, it is suggested that the stereo may not be used for 12 hours after installation to allow any stray moisture to dry.
Stereo, Amplifiers & After Market Equipment:
Please inform us before work has begun of any hidden electrical equipment which may react adversely to water, hidden areas where water is likely to be used.
Glass Antennas, Cell Phones or Sensors:
Signal reception may be impeded after the application of any window film which contains any metal. Signal reception to any hand held or portable cell phone may be impeded after the application of any window film which contains any metal.
10. Warranty Work:
No warranty work will be performed without all your original paperwork. Vehicle must be brought into the shop to have any problem areas inspected prior to scheduling an appropriate installation time and date.
Product Liability:
All products guaranteed to be as specified; all products are scratch resistant not scratch proof. Any scratches to the film caused by rolling the windows up or down after installation are not our responsibility. After we are done with the job we will offer a first time polish and inspection of our work.
11. Deposits & Cancellations:
We require a 24 hour notice to reschedule and/or cancel your appointment. You can reschedule your appointment at no additional cost. There will be no refunds/credit for any no shows or cancellations after your appointment. An in-store credit will be issued for any available services within six months of the original appointment date.
12 Photography & Videography:
I give Unique Auto Inc. the permission to photograph and/or videograph my vehicle and use it for digital and print marketing.
13. IWFA Installation Guidelines & Standards:
Per the IWFA (International Window Film Association), the glass with applied films shall be viewed at right angles to the glass from the room side and at distance no less than six (6) feet. Viewing shall be carried out in natural daylight, not in direct sun light. The installation is deemed acceptable if all of the following are unobtrusive (effects during 30-60 day cure time should be disregarded). Dirt particles, hair and fibers, adhesive gels, fingerprints, air bubbles, water gaze, scores and scratches, film distortion, creases, edge lifting, nicks and tears. If any of these conditions still exist after 30-60 days we request the customer return at such time to have us evaluate the film. WE CANNOT DO AN INSPECTION OVER THE PHONE, VIA E-MAIL OR THROUGH PICTURES; WE MUST SEE THE VEHICLE/GLASS AT OUR LOCATION FOR INSPECTION. ONCE INSTALLED WINDOW FILM MATERIAL IS INTENDED TO BE VIEWED FROM A DISTANCE OF SIX (6) FEET FROM THE GLASS AND IS DEEMED AS ACCEPTABLE. CARING FOR YOUR NEW PAINT PROTECTION FILM:
Paint Protection Film is a durable 8 MIL durable film designed to protect your vehicle’s paint from scratches, rock chips, swirl marks and everyday road hazards. It will help resist staining and maintain a high quality finish for years. It is applied to the exterior of your vehicle’s paint. It is warrantied for 10 years from yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering and delamination. There is no warranty if the film or protected panel gets damaged in an accident or from debris. Light surfaces scratches will self-heal in 20-30 minutes at room temperature.
1. Drying Time:
Your new paint protection film will take 3-4 weeks to fully cure depending on weather conditions. Vehicle is required to return for inspection within 2 weeks.
2. Cleaning:
DO NOT WASH YOUR VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS. It is recommended to wash your car often and regularly by hand using our RINSE-FREE CAR WASH. After two weeks you can use a commercial TOUCH-LESS CAR WASH. Remove insect or other stains with bug and tar remover. Remove stubborn stains with lacquer thinner or 99% isopropyl alcohol. Take care to keep these chemicals off the vehicle's paint. Avoid pressure washing near exposed film edges. Recommended safe distance is 36". The high pressure water used can cause the film to peel around the edges. In the weeks following your paint protection film installation, you may see some areas that need re-trimming or that lift at edges and corners. This is common for large pieces and is easily fixable. Please call or e-mail us immediately if you experience this.
3. Condition of Vehicle for Paint Protection Film Installation:
Vehicles cannot have any paint protection coatings on it such as ceramic coatings, sealants, waxes or oil spray. These can affect the effectiveness of the adhesion and may cause lifting, bubbles and other issues. Client is aware that the design of the paint protection film is for OEM factory paint. The client waives and releases Unique Auto Inc. from any warranty or damage claims where a product has been applied to a non-OEM paint surface.
4. Paint Quality:
Paint may lift on repainted panel/OEM paint if improperly prepped and painted. By authorizing Unique Auto Inc. to proceed with the installation, the client herby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Unique Auto Inc. and agrees that Unique Auto Inc. will not be liable in the event that damage does occur during the installation process.
5. Paint Chips:
Paint protection film is to prevent your vehicle from future paint chip damage. Paint protection film installation over paint chips will look like contamination after the installation due to the unevenness of the paint surface. We do not recommend touch-up on small paint chips due to the aesthetics of the installation thereafter.
6. Installation:
Unique Auto Inc. often uses a computerized plotter to cut paint protection film kits using a cutting software. This minimizes the need and risk of cutting the paint protection film on the painted surfaces of your vehicle. Computer cut paint protection film does result in imperfect coverage. Pre-cut kits involve stopping short of edges, edges around badges, washers and other parts. While every effort will be made to create coverage consistency, slight variations and imperfections will be present in the cuts and coverage across the application. The customer understands that paint protection film is a sacrificial layer of your car, not a completely invisible or matte layer. Paint protection film cannot be installed on textured plastic pieces. Customers may choose to have custom design or bulk install for an additional fee. You can ask you Installation Technician for a detailed description of the visual quality expectations for your vehicle.
7. Restyling Paint Protection Film:
Restyling paint protection films are clear matte, pattern and colour films. Badges, trims and parts must be safely removed to wrap over edges. There will be vinyl inlay and seam to cover up OEM paint. There is an additional up charge for installing restyling paint protection film.
8. Exposed Edges and Seams:
Although we strive to wrap all edges, some areas cannot be wrapped. Debris build up overtime on exposed edges/seams will be more visible on white/light coloured vehicles. Partial installs will have more noticeable debris due to exposed edges. We recommend ceramic coating your vehicle to reduce debris build-up. There is no warranty or reapplication of film due to debris build up.
9. Headlights:
Headlights are not recommended for paint protection film installation due to HID feature and exterior coating on certain vehicles. By authorizing Unique Auto Inc. to proceed with headlight film installation, the customer herby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Unique Auto Inc. and agrees that Unique Auto Inc. will not be liable.
10. Film, Badge & Decal Removal:
Film, badge and decal removal may cause the paint to be damaged. By authorizing Unique Auto Inc. to proceed with removal, the client herby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Unique Auto Inc. and agrees that Unique Auto Inc. will not be liable in the event that damage does occur during the removal process.
11. Imperfections:
Though we strive for perfection in our installations, due to nature of the product, some degree of dust contamination and/or minor imperfections are present in every paint protection film applications. Also pre-existing flaws, scratches and rock chips on paint are often much more noticeable after the paint protection film is installed. Paint protection film will have minor imperfections like orange peel. Used and older vehicles will have more imperfections due to its age. The process is used as paint protection not paint perfection.
12. Pick-Up / Drop-Off:
You are responsible for verifying the interior and exterior condition of your vehicle BEFORE you leave Unique Auto Inc. You are also required to verify the condition of both the interior and exterior of your vehicle AFTER your appointment, before you leave Unique Auto Inc. 14. Photography & Videography:
I give Unique Auto Inc. the permission to photograph and/or videograph my vehicle and use it for digital and print marketing.
CARING FOR YOUR NEW CERAMIC COATING:
1. Curing Time:
Your new ceramic coating will take up to 14 days to fully cure and 4-6 hours to dry after the application.2. Water Spots:
Washing vehicles with unfiltered water, especially in the sun can cause water spot stains. The client understands that the longer the water spots are left on the vehicle, the harder it will be to remove them. Unique Auto Inc. will not be liable in the event that water spot damage occurs.3. Condition of Vehicle for Ceramic Coating:
It is recommended that all new or used vehicles have paint correction done before being coated. The client acknowledges that the ceramic coating on uncorrected areas will be less effective than corrected areas. By waiving this additional service, the client understands that the coating will be less effective on areas that have not been painted corrected.4. Film, Badge & Decal Removal:
Film, badge and decal removal may cause the substrate to be damaged. By authorizing Unique Auto Inc. to proceed with the removal, the client hereby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Unique Auto Inc. and agrees that Unique Auto Inc. will not be liable in the event that damage does occur during the removal process.5. Paint Correction:
Paint correction will remove most light scratches, swirls, marring and minor marks on the vehicle's clear coat. The client understands that even though we strive for perfection, some degree of scratching swirls and minor marks are present after the paint correction process.6. Wet Sanding:
Wet sanding is used to remove the top layer of a vehicle's clear coat. Because of the risk associated with wet sanding, Unique Auto Inc. only uses this technique when there are only 2 options for the affected area: wet sand or repaint. Therefore, Unique assumes no responsibility for repair to the affected areas should wet sanding cause additional damage. It is highly recommended that after a vehicle has been wet sanded, that a ceramic coating be applied to replenish the clear coat to the vehicle's paint.7. Ceramic Coating:
Ceramic coating is a SiO2 (silicon dioxide) ceramic coating providing protection against UV and making your vehicle easier to clean. I understand that the coating is not scratch proof. It is recommended that vehicles get paint protection film (P.P.F.) on the bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors before coating to prevent rock chips to high impact areas.8. Windshield:
The client understands that weather conditions will affect the degree and time of protection. There is no warranty on the durability of windshield coating.9. Interior Coating:
If any liquid or substance gets on the upholstery, it is advised to clean it as soon as possible to prevent stains from occurring. I understand that the longer the substance on the upholstery, staining may occur. There is no warranty on the staining of your vehicle's interior.10. Wheels-Off Coating:
If any brake dust or road debris is on the wheels and calipers, it is advised to clean it up as soon as possible to prevent staining from occurring. I understand that the longer the substance stays on, staining may occur on wheels and calipers. Wheel coating is not recommended for bare aluminum wheels, therefore bare aluminum wheels will not be coated. If you want to proceed with the coating, there will be no warranty given on bare aluminum wheels. There is a 3 year warranty for wheels and calipers. The client is responsible for re-torquing the wheels to vehicle manufacturing torque specifications.11.
There will be no refunds/credit for any no shows or cancellations after your appointment. An in-store credit will be issued for any available services within six months of the original appointment date.13. Photography/Videography:
I give Unique Auto Inc. the permission to photograph and/or videograph my vehicle and use it for digital and print marketing.
MAINTENANCE & ANNUAL INSPECTIONS:
14. Aftercare:
- It is required all customers come in at least once EVERY 6 MONTHS for inspection by a Certified Installer for maintenance and routine check-up. Failure to complete the inspection within the specified time requirement will void the warranty.
- The maintenance program will significantly extend the life of the coating. This service has been designed to complement our coatings and will help keep your surface looking new and longer.
15. Cleaning:
- Wait 48 hours after installation to wash your car. Wash often and regularly as needed.
- For exterior cleaning, we recommend using a Rinse Free Car Wash / Touch-less Car Wash on a weekly basis to avoid excessive contamination buildup.
- Avoid washing in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting. Wash from the roof downwards, leaving the dirtiest sections last to avoid possible cross-contamination. You can follow up with a Detail Spray and Ceramic Boost for added gloss.
16. Drying:
- Always dry the exterior surfaces completely using a clean, soft, lint free microfiber towel or air blow.
- Never allow water to evaporate on its own. Tap water can contain minerals which leave deposits on your coating, creating unwanted water spots.
- Always avoid aggressive wiping
17. Detailing:
- For exterior surfaces, follow washing and drying steps above. Follow up with the Detail Spray for any left-over fingerprints or smudges on your paint protection film or surface. You can apply the Ceramic Boost (as needed) for added shine and slickness.
- AVOID applying the Detail Spray or Ceramic Boost in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting
18. Spot Removal of Surface Contamination:
- NEVER use aggressive products to polish the coating or to remove surface contamination.
- VISIT or CALL your authorized installer for any question you have on your coated surfaces.
19. Vehicle Inspection Schedule:
To uphold the warranty, you must visit your Certified Installer (who applied your original coating) during the duration of the warranty.
20. Warranty Coverage:
